Just launched for the new season, the all-in-one Budapest Card now includes a whole raft of major city attractions accessible at discounted rates. Some are also completely free, such as walking tours of Buda or Pest, admission to the recently revamped Museum of Fine Arts and a relaxing soak at the city’s legendary Lukács baths.

Valid for periods ranging from 24 hours to 120, the Budapest Card offers full use of regular public transport as well as free or discounted admission to scores of attractions.

Your Budapest Card grants free entry to the Hungarian National Gallery, the Hungarian National Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and many other major galleries.

Guided visits in English also feature. The one-hour walk around the Szamos confectionery museum is free, with half-priced tours offered to the Franz Liszt Music Academy and Museum of Fine Arts, the latter with music thrown in. City tours by bus, bike, boat or on foot are also part of the bundle, at varying rates of discount.

You can also experience Budapest’s famed spas – the Lukács completely free with the Card, other main ones 20% cheaper – and there are 20-30% discounts at many major restaurants, including at the Gellért Hotel and floating eateries Spoon, Vén Hajó and Columbus.

The Budapest Card is available online at budapestinfo.hu and at many BudapestInfo Points across town, such as the central one near Deák tér at Sütő utca 2, terminals 2A and 2B of Budapest airport, and one recently unveiled at the Szamos Chocolate Museum on Kossuth tér.

Prices start at €21.99 for the 24-hour card. The standard 72-hour card (€42.99) offers the same benefits, or there’s the 72-hour Plus (€66.90) with free airport transfers and a Danube cruise, and many more discounts included.
